In 2026, Hoi P'loy launched their Di Ponti range - a hybrid of old and new manufacturing technologies that embraces both the traditional solid brass components the brand is known for and contemporary 3D-printed parts. The range uses 3D-printed parts in tasteful, matte colours with simple designs that draw inspiration from a legendary visionary of the past. While Alfonso Bialetti is well known as the inventor of the Moka Pot, few people acknowledge the designer behind the visual design and refinement of the iconic shape - Luigi Di Ponti.
Our Di Ponti Touch Light pays homage to his famous piece by echoing the faceted cylinder we’ve all come to know as a universal symbol of coffee, while drawing on the signature sharp angles found in the Hoi P’loy Logo.
To create a seamless user experience, we built the Di Ponti Touch light with a minimal brass finial that controls the light with a gentle touch: tap-on, tap-off. The lamp uses a replaceable 5W LED E14 bulb, and comes standard with a South African 3-pin plug.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT 3D PRINTED PRODUCTS
TAKE NOTE: Unlike injection-molded plastics, 3D printing builds objects layer by layer, resulting in a
distinctive texture often with slight variations between prints. While we strive for the highest quality
standards, minor imperfections are a natural part of the process and should be expected within
reason.
OCCASIONAL IMPERFECTIONS MAY INCLUDE:
• Layer lines – Visible striations, or banding, where each layer of filament is deposited.
• Minor surface artifacts – Tiny bumps or inconsistencies can occur due to filament flow
variations.
• Seam lines – Slight markings where each new layer begins.
• Support marks – Small areas where support structures were necessary during printing.
HANDLE WITH CARE: 3D-printed PLA items are relatively durable although the material is lightweight
and structures can be delicate in certain areas. Compared to traditional metal fixtures, which are by
nature hard-waring, 3D printed items are typically less impact-resistant and may be more susceptible
to cracks or damage if not handled with care. We’ve done loads of testing to ensure our designs are
robust, but they still need a little TLC.
While we take great care to ensure a high-quality finish, each piece is unique, and small aesthetic
differences may occur. If you have any questions regarding the production process or quality
expectations, please feel free to reach out to us.
