From the time of Thomas Edison - "the olden days", right up until the present, there has been a rich history of visual communication and marketing material promoting the various leading brands of light bulbs available. It was in this spirit that we decided to create a poster of our own to reflect on our values, and commemorate the journey we've begun as we revive a more traditional approach to lighting. For this we teamed up with Studio MUTI and marvelled as they worked their magic with our poster brief. After many, many hours of meticulous work by these talented artists, we're proud to launch our first official Hoi P'loy poster print.
The print is available framed or unframed. It's printed on high quality 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching Paper (594mm x 398mm) and has been embossed with the official Hoi P'loy mark at the top centre of the print.
Studio Muti's dynamic range of diverse, yet unique styles of illustration has helped to put Cape Town on the map in terms of pushing boundaries in the world of illustration. The warm personalities of the partners, Miné Jonker, Clinton Campbell and Brad Hodgskiss combined with pure creative talent are a big part of what brings their work to life, and resonates with many of the values we aspire to at Hoi P'loy.
